Tourists may soon get to experience cable car rides at Nandi Hills, with the project expected to be operational by mid-2027 if timelines hold. Reportedly, acquisition of the 3.5 acres of private land required for the upper terminal is nearly complete, while land for the lower terminal has already been secured.
The project is being executed by Dynamicx Ropeway Private Limited in partnership with the Karnataka state government. The company has submitted its final project plans to authorities in Bengaluru Rural and Chikkaballapur districts for approval. Before construction can begin, clearances from several government bodies, including the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), are required. Officials expect these approvals to be granted within the next few months.
Once cleared, civil construction will commence, with the company allotted 1.5 years for project completion. The Nandi Hills ropeway, long delayed due to land and environmental challenges, is now finally moving ahead.
The cable car system will feature 50 semi-closed cabins offering panoramic views. The lower station will accommodate 200+ cars, 110 two-wheelers, buses, and vans, along with a waiting area for 600 people, ensuring a comfortable and scenic experience for visitors.
