13-year-old dies in motorcycle-goods vehicle crash

Tragedy struck near Kondahalli Gate in Magadi Taluk on Tuesday when a 13-year-old boy, Harshit, lost his life and his father, Nagesh, sustained serious injuries after their motorcycle collided with a goods vehicle.

The accident occurred while Harshit and Nagesh were returning home from a visit to the Karalahalli temple. Harshit succumbed to severe injuries and blood loss at the scene, while Nagesh was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Bengaluru for medical treatment.

Magadi police promptly reached the accident site and carried out a preliminary investigation. The body of the deceased boy was shifted to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination, and authorities registered a formal case in connection with the incident.

Police sources indicated that further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the collision and whether any traffic violations were involved. Local residents expressed shock over the accident, emphasizing the need for enhanced road safety measures in the area.

Authorities have urged motorists to drive cautiously and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent similar incidents in the future. The Magadi police have assured the public that strict action will be taken if negligence is found to be a factor in the accident.
