Minister Khandre highlights knowledge at ‘Thatt Antha Heli’ 5000th episode

Karnataka’s Minister for Forest, Wildlife, and Environment, Eshwar B. Khandre, lauded the iconic quiz program Thatt Antha during the celebration of its 5,000th episode, calling it a confluence of knowledge and memory. The event was held at the J.K. Auditorium in Bengaluru, marking a historic milestone as the show earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Khandre emphasized that the quiz stimulates both intellect and emotional agility. For the past 23 years, this program has quenched viewers’ thirst for knowledge while providing both information and entertainment, he said. He further praised Bengaluru Doordarshan, which has maintained professional integrity since its inception in the 1980s, offering factual information and wholesome entertainment to the public free of cost.

The Thatt Antha program has engaged over 15,000 participants and posed more than 75,000 questions, demonstrating its immense popularity. Media experts, including Dr. N.A. Someshwar, commended the show for providing a platform to showcase talent and promote learning.

Minister Khandre also highlighted that the quiz has been organized even at Bannerghatta National Park, promoting awareness about nature, wildlife, and the environment among the general public. Thatt Antha is truly a treasure trove of knowledge, he remarked.

The milestone event was attended by distinguished personalities, including Nadoja H.M.P.N., education expert Vude P. Krishna, Prof. Shashikant Udikeri, Vice-Chancellor of Kalaburagi University, and scholar Revathi Kamat, among others. Their presence added to the significance of this landmark celebration of one of Bengaluru Doordarshan’s most cherished programs.
