Bhima Bridge Submergence
Kalaburagi
Heavy vehicle movement has been suspended since Saturday morning as the bridge over the Bhima River near Jewargi town has neared submergence. Passengers from Bangalore, Hubballi, Belgaum, Vijayapura, and other areas are stranded near the bridge, struggling to reach Kalaburagi. Vehicles, including buses and trucks, are lined up along the roadside, while some passengers from the Jewargi area were seen walking across the bridge carrying their luggage.
Nandini, arriving from Bangalore, said, “There are no vehicles to go to Kalaburagi.” Sharanamma, from Arakeri in Surapura, Yadgir district, was also waiting for transport.
