Officials engage citizens in cleaning and tree-planting initiatives to boost urban sustainability.
The Bengaluru South City Corporation recently conducted an extensive cleanliness and environmental enhancement drive across parts of the city, focusing on Kumaraswamy Layout and JHBCS Layout. The initiative aimed to improve sanitation, greenery, and overall civic aesthetics under the jurisdiction of the South City Corporation.
In Kumaraswamy Layout, teams carried out an intensive cleaning campaign, clearing garbage from public spaces, drains, and streets. The effort was part of the ongoing citywide push to ensure cleaner neighborhoods and promote public health. Residents expressed appreciation for the corporation’s hands-on approach, noting a visible improvement in the cleanliness of the area.
Simultaneously, a tree-planting activity was conducted in JHBCS Layout, with the participation of local civic officials and volunteers. Saplings were planted along streets and community spaces, contributing to Bengaluru’s growing greenery and supporting environmental sustainability. Officials emphasized that such initiatives not only enhance the city’s appearance but also help combat pollution and improve air quality.
The South City Corporation reiterated its commitment to regular maintenance and environmental awareness programs.
