UPITS 2025 expected to generate business worth ₹4,000 cr

Greater Noida
The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025 (UPITS 2025) is projected to generate business worth ₹4,000 crore, state MSME and Textiles Minister Rakesh Sachan announced on Friday. The five-day event, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is showcasing the state’s strength in traditional and emerging industries.

Over 2,400 exhibitors from across Uttar Pradesh are participating, displaying products from textiles, handicrafts, khadi, garments, leather, food processing, One District One Product (ODOP) items, and GI-tagged goods. The exhibition also highlights electronics, defence, machinery, medical equipment, and pharmaceuticals. According to Sachan, the show gives artisans and craftsmen a rare chance to connect directly with global buyers.

The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) reported enthusiastic participation from more than 500 foreign buyers representing 85 countries, including major economies like the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, and South Africa. FIEO President S.C. Ralhan said the event would act as a catalyst for boosting exports and partnerships.

As part of a symbolic gesture, Kala Namak Rice, a GI-tagged product, will be presented to international buyers. This aims to highlight Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural heritage and its focus on quality and tradition under the ODOP programme.

More than 2,500 B2B meetings are scheduled, creating direct interactions between sellers and international buyers. Regions such as Varanasi, Agra, Moradabad, and Gorakhpur are prominently represented, with artisans showcasing their craftsmanship to a global audience.

Ralhan added that UPITS 2025 is not just about exports but also an opportunity to promote joint ventures, technology collaborations, and foreign direct investment, making it a key platform for future trade growth.
