CH NEWS

Emphasizing the importance of digestive health, MP Dr. C.N. Manjunath urged citizens not to ignore gastrointestinal issues, warning that untreated problems can lead to severe health complications. His remarks came during the launch of a free gastric and digestive health check-up camp held at Shanthiniketan Group of Educational Institutions on Thursday. The event was jointly organized by Rotary Ramanagara, Bangalore Gastro Center, and Shanthiniketan institutions, alongside the inaugural run of the Gastroenterology on Wheels vehicle.

The camp, conducted under the guidance of Dr. Yoganand Reddy of Bangalore Gastro Center, featured 12 super-specialists providing free consultations. The newly launched Gastroenterology on Wheels vehicle, the third in the country and first in the state, is equipped with endoscopy facilities and aims to bring specialized gastrointestinal care directly to citizens. Rotary Club of Cubbon Park and Rotary International supported the initiative.

Dr. Manjunath highlighted the risks of fatty liver, attributing it to sedentary lifestyles, obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure. He advised citizens to manage weight and adopt healthier lifestyles to prevent liver-related complications.

Dr. Yoganand Reddy added that the mobile vehicle, capable of reaching rural areas, enables residents to receive necessary diagnostic services at their doorstep. Over 250 people benefited from the camp. The program was attended by Rotary Ramanagara President Soumya Kumaraswamy, District Director R. Kumaraswamy, Rotary Cubbon Park President Sangeeta, former President V.C. Roy, Managing Trustee Gauri Shankar B.R., and Rotary Ramanagara Secretary Gayatri Devi P., among others.
