Commuters praise easy access to fresh dairy as government promotes local entrepreneurship and convenience.
In a move aimed at promoting local dairy products and enhancing commuter convenience, three Nandini outlets have already been inaugurated at key Bengaluru metro stations. DK Suresh, local MLA, described the initiative as a matter of pride for the state, highlighting the popularity and quality of the Nandini brand among citizens.
On Thursday, discussions were held at the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) office to explore the expansion of these outlets. The meeting was attended by BMRCL Managing Director J. Ravishankar and other senior officials, who deliberated on potential locations for new outlets across the metro network. The goal is to provide easy access to fresh dairy products for daily commuters while supporting local businesses.
The Initial three outlets have already received a warm response from metro passengers, with many appreciating the availability of Nandini milk, curd, and other dairy items at convenient transit points. Officials said the expansion plan aims to strategically place additional outlets at busy stations, ensuring that passengers can purchase high-quality, affordable products without leaving the metro premises.
Suresh emphasized that the initiative aligns with broader government efforts to promote local entrepreneurship, strengthen supply chains for regional dairy producers, and enhance commuter amenities. By combining convenience with support for local industry, the program seeks to create a sustainable model that benefits both consumers and producers. The BMRCL has committeed to fast-tracking approvals and infrastructure support for the upcoming outlets. With growing public interest, the expansion of Nandini outlets is expected to become a familiar sight at Bengaluru’s metro stations in the coming months.
