BNCC chief inspects roads, drains and cleanliness

 Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar conducted an early morning inspection of Richard’s Town and its surrounding areas on Thursday, accompanied by the Joint Commissioner, engineering staff, and the solid waste management (SWM) team. The visit focused on reviewing civic infrastructure projects and addressing local sanitation issues. The Commissioner Inspected ongoing drain and footpath works at Davis Road, Clarke Road, Hall Road, Viviani Road, Haines Road, Coles Road, and Aasaye Road. He directed engineers to ensure that the works are completed within the stipulated timeframe and stressed the importance of maintaining quality standards for long-term durability.

Further, he reviewed the white-topping works underway at Lingrajpura Main Road and Lazar Road. Highlighting the need to improve road safety and traffic flow, Sunil Kumar instructed contractors to expedite the process while minimizing inconvenience to commuters.

During the visit, he also directed the Assistant Revenue Officer (ARO) to verify the property documents of a vacant site on Davis Road to prevent unauthorized use. Additionally, he instructed the SWM team to clear a black spot in the locality, emphasizing strict monitoring of waste disposal practices and cleanliness drives. Speaking to officials, the Commissioner reiterated that timely inspections, transparent procedures, and swift action on grievances are essential to building citizen trust. The inspection underlined BNCC’s continued efforts to enhance civic amenities, improve sanitation, and strengthen infrastructure in rapidly growing neighborhoods of North Bengaluru.
