The grand unveiling of the folk arts of Kannada Nadu has created a festive atmosphere in Sri Kshetra, said Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara.
He spoke while inaugurating the 46th State Level Folk Arts Festival and Chunchashree Award Ceremony in Adichunchanagiri Kshetra of Nagamangala Taluk on Wednesday.
He openly praised Sri Nirmalananda Nath Swamiji, beloved deity, who has created such a grand celebration and a spiritual, religious and educational revolution, for introducing such ancient folk art forms to the next generation and for always striving for its continuity.
The work of spreading folklore that is passed from mouth to mouth by people is underway across the world through various media. Art has no caste or religion, he said, adding that the 1500-year-old Sri Math has preserved and developed the artistic heritage with the essence of religion, imparting knowledge and education, and has become a light to the lives of millions of people.
Only the Sri Math is able to do such social upliftment work that the government cannot do. It is the pride of the Sri Math that the Dasara celebrations celebrated by the Maharaja are being carried out, and he wished that the artists who have arrived and the students of this field will achieve high positions with this culture, the Minister said.
Agriculture Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy also spoke.
District Superintendent of Police Mallikarjuna Baladandi, General Secretary of Sri Matha Prasannanath Swamiji, Purushottamanandanath Swamiji and others were present.
Dr Nirmalanandanath Swamiji, in his blessing, said that this state-level folklore festival has been planned on the occasion of the coronation of Sri Balagangadharanath Maha Swamiji. Innumerable artists have gathered here with immense love and devotion for the Sri Kshetra and Guru.
