Sprint icon Usain Bolt will swap the track for the football field during a special exhibition match in India on October 1. The eight-time Olympic gold medalist will headline the event, which blends sport and entertainment.
Bolt will feature in an exclusive showcase where he will represent both Bengaluru FC and Mumbai City FC, playing one half for each side. The unique arrangement is designed to bring together fans from both clubs. The match forms part of PUMA’s two-day celebration beginning September 30 and will be a ticketed event.
“Sport has the power to inspire and unite. Football is hugely popular among India’s youth, and bringing Usain Bolt here reflects that spirit,” said PUMA India MD Karthik Balagopalan.
Known worldwide as the fastest man alive, Bolt has long been passionate about football. Growing up in Jamaica, he regularly played the sport and dreamed of testing his skills on the pitch. After retiring from athletics, he pursued this passion more seriously, taking part in training sessions, trial matches, and even scoring goals in friendly competitions.
The exhibition game promises a festive atmosphere, with footballers, Bollywood stars, and other celebrities joining Bolt on the field. Organizers believe his presence will not only draw fans to the stadium but also inspire young players to dream big.
