Bengaluru Authorities Focus on Civic Efficiency, Public Safety Measures
The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) on Monday conducted a virtual meeting to review ongoing civic issues, with particular focus on repairing potholes across the city. The meeting was chaired by GBA Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao, who issued necessary directives to officials for speedy and effective execution of road maintenance works and other civic responsibilities.
During the discussion, Rao emphasized the importance of ensuring smooth mobility and public safety by addressing potholes on priority. He also highlighted the need for accountability and timely completion of civic projects. The Chief Commissioner urged officials to streamline coordination among departments and respond promptly to public grievances.
The meeting was attended by Special Commissioner Dr. K. Harish Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of the Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Board, Karigowda, and senior civic officials from various municipal bodies. Among those present were Municipal Commissioners Rajendra Cholan, Ramesh D.S., Pommal Sunil Kumar, Dr. Rajendra K.V., and Ramesh K.N., along with Additional Commissioners, Technical Director B. Ismail, Chief Engineers, and other senior engineers from different divisions.
Officials briefed the Chief Commissioner on the progress of road repair initiatives, technical challenges, and measures being taken to address infrastructure concerns. Rao directed the teams to maintain close supervision of contractors, monitor the quality of work, and ensure that roads are restored without delay. The GBA reiterated its commitment to improving civic amenities, assuring residents that proactive measures are being taken to enhance the city’s infrastructure and livability.
