Parle G, KMF explore tie-up for food industry growth

In a development highlighting growing synergies between the food processing sector and Karnataka’s dairy industry, Parle G Biscuit Company representatives held discussions with Bengaluru Rural MP D.K. Suresh at the Bamul headquarters on Tuesday.

Rupesh, a senior representative from Parle G, met with Suresh to explore opportunities for purchasing milk protein powder from the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) through Bamul, its Bengaluru cooperative. The meeting centered around leveraging Karnataka’s robust dairy production to meet the rising demand for quality ingredients in the processed food sector.

Speaking after the meeting, Suresh said the initiative reflects the state’s ability to support large-scale industries with reliable supply chains while also ensuring that local farmers benefit. Partnerships like these can create win-win situations where our dairy farmers find a stable market and companies like Parle G gain access to high-quality milk protein powder, he stated.

Officials from Bamul noted that milk protein powder is increasingly in demand among food and nutrition companies due to its use in biscuits, health products, and confectionery. Supplying to major companies could enhance revenue for the federation while ensuring that surplus milk production is efficiently utilized. The discussions are at an exploratory stage, but both parties expressed optimism about finalizing an agreement. If successful, the partnership could set a precedent for deeper collaboration between Karnataka’s dairy cooperatives and India’s leading food brands, ultimately benefiting farmers, cooperatives, and consumers alike.
