A devastating accident occurred near Tarekudlu in Kamalashile, Kundapur taluk, Udupi district, when a motorcycle collided with a sambar deer, resulting in the death of the rider and severe injuries to the pillion rider.
The victim, identified as ShreyasMogaveera (23) from Kavradi, died instantly at the scene. The pillion rider, Vignesh, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in Kundapur for treatment.
According to reports, the two friends had visited the Kamalashile temple earlier that day and were returning to Nellikatte when the incident occurred. A large sambar deer suddenly darted across the road near Tarekudlu, causing Shreyas to lose control of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle struck the deer and toppled, leading to the fatal crash. The sudden appearance of the animal left little time for the rider to react, resulting in the tragic outcome.
Police from Shankaranarayana station promptly arrived at the scene, conducted an inspection, and registered a case under relevant sections to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
