Singapore resisted briefly, but India’s forwards remained relentless and dominant

The Indian women’s hockey team stormed into the Super 4 stage of the Women’s Asia Cup 2025 with a stunning 12-0 victory over Singapore on Monday.
The game began with India attacking right from the start. Mumtaz Khan opened the scoring in just the second minute with a sharp reverse stick shot. Soon after, Neha doubled the lead in the 11th minute, followed quickly by Lalremsiami in the 13th. Navneet added another from a penalty corner in the 14th minute, ending the first quarter at 4-0.
Singapore tried to resist in the second quarter but India’s forwards were relentless. Navneet scored twice more in the 20th and 28th minutes, completing her hat-trick. Udita also struck in the 29th minute, giving India a strong 7-0 lead at half-time.
The third quarter saw even more dominance. Mumtaz scored twice more, completing her own hat-trick in the 39th minute. Neha also netted her second goal, while Sharmila added another just before the quarter ended, pushing the lead to 11-0.
India maintained their pressure in the final quarter. In the 53rd minute, Rutuja Pisal scored with a neat deflection, sealing the 12-0 triumph. Despite some late effort from Singapore, India never allowed them any chance to score.
The win showcased India’s sharp finishing, strong teamwork, and control in every phase of the match. With this victory, the team confirmed their Super 4 spot and will next face the second-placed team from Pool A on September 10.
