The State Backward Classes Commission, following directives from the state government, is set to conduct a comprehensive social and educational survey from September 22 to October 7, covering 3.38 lakh households across the district. Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Mahantesh Danammavara emphasized the importance of honest participation by both staff and residents to ensure accurate data collection, which will help formulate state policies.
Surveyors will visit each house with around 60 questions, gathering information based on ration cards, Aadhaar numbers, UID cards, disability certificates, and voter IDs. Family members are advised to ensure their mobile numbers are linked to Aadhaar for OTP-based e-KYC verification. The survey will capture details on educational qualifications, skill training needs, income, family assets, religion, caste, sub-caste, and clan occupation.
Approximately 3.20 lakh homes have electricity meters with pre-pasted survey stickers, while the remaining houses without meters will also be identified for inclusion in the survey.
Danammavara urged residents to cooperate fully with surveyors and provide accurate information. For any assistance or queries, the State Backward Classes Commission helpline can be contacted at 8050770004. The survey is part of the state’s effort to understand social and educational conditions comprehensively and is considered a civic duty by the administration.
