Advocate and former Bigg Boss contestant K.N. Jagadish was arrested by Kodigehalli police following allegations of caste-based abuse. The arrest came after a complaint was lodged by a man named Manjunath, accusing Jagadish of making derogatory caste remarks. Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR and took Jagadish into custody.
According to police sources, Jagadish had allegedly posted casteist comments on social media. When the police attempted to serve him a notice on Thursday, he refused to open the door and allegedly behaved rudely with officials.
Ahead of his arrest, Jagadish released a video on Facebook stating, “This is a normal procedure, nobody should create unrest.” He is currently being questioned, police confirmed.
Jagadish, known for his outspoken social media presence, had earlier appeared in season 11 of the Kannada reality show Bigg Boss. His arrest has once again placed him in the spotlight, not only in the legal community but also in political circles.
The controversy also echoed in the Karnataka Assembly earlier this week. MLA S.R. Vishwanath had raised objections against Jagadish, accusing him of making statements that infringed on his rights as a legislator. Supporting him, Law Minister H.K. Patil said that speaking against remarks made in the Assembly was unacceptable. He assured that if a notice was issued, the government would respond appropriately, and the Speaker should review it. Jagadish remains in police custody for further inquiry.
