Former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad has announced his run for the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) elections. His decision comes after the recent stampede at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Prasad expressed sympathy for the victims and promised to bring back the stadium’s glory while improving safety.
Prasad’s campaign promises focus on strong leadership with no hidden agendas, pure love for cricket, and a commitment to players, members, and fans. He plans to fix issues from the stadium tragedy, follow safety rules strictly, and restart hosting big matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium soon.
His long-term goal is to make the stadium a smart, modern place with better technology for ticketing and crowd control. He also wants to honor cricket legends by naming parts of the stadium after famous players like Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid. A cricket museum showing Karnataka’s rich history will be built too.
Prasad also plans to improve cricket facilities across Karnataka by building new grounds and a stadium in Mysuru. He will restart youth tournaments and boost women’s cricket with equal support. Former players will guide young cricketers in new academies statewide.
Prasad’s message is clear: “Vote for strong leadership, revival, and glory.”
