A tragic incident unfolded as a 21-year-old attendant at a fuel station, who had gone missing on Thursday night, was discovered murdered, her lifeless body left in front of her residence in the early hours of Friday. The victim, identified as Mahananda, hailed from Kalaburagi. She shared a home with her older sister, who also worked at the same fuel station, located in Lakshmi Sagar Layout, Mahadevapura. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, S Girish, revealed that Mahananda was the victim of a brutal strangulation, evident from visible marks on her neck. Both siblings were employed at a Shell petrol bunk. Tragedy struck when Mahananda did not show up for her work shift on Thursday. While preparing dinner, she left her home briefly and subsequently went missing. As concern grew, her older sister lodged a formal complaint with the authorities. Unfortunately, the grim discovery was made around 5 am the following day – Mahananda’s lifeless body was found near her residence, discarded by her assailants. The shocking incident has left the community in grief and disbelief. Authorities are actively investigating the case to apprehend those responsible for this heinous act. The tragic demise of this young woman underscores the need for ensuring the safety and security of individuals in their surroundings.
