Indradhanush 5.0 Launched

Zilla Panchayat CEO TK Swaroopa  called upon all the mothers and pregnant women to avail the benefits of all vaccinations under the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0 of immunising.

Speaking after administering vaccination on babies at the women and children’s wing at the district civil hospital under the ‘Indradhanush Immunisation Mission 5.0’ programme here on Monday, she said vaccination under the this programme will help protect neonatals, children, mothers and pregnant women from major diseases.
She said the first phase would be from August 7 to 12, the second phase would be between September 11 and 16 and the doses in the third phase would be given from October 9 to 14 and added that those who skipped the vaccination earlier should come forward now and get themselves vaccinated without fail.

The flagship programme of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Indradhanush 5.0 aims at reaching out to those who missed the vaccinations earlier and ensuring community’s participation in the Mission. Swaroopa said it will also aim at administering the Measles Rubella (MR) vaccine. District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Shashi Patil said the details of the vaccines administered will be uploaded on U Win portal and the beneficiaries will be issued e-vaccination certificate.

RCHO Dr SM Honakeri said under the IMI 5.0,  36,010 children in the 0-1 age group and 39,430 pregnant women will be vaccinated. Vaccination is being done at 589 centres, he informed.
District Civil Surgeon DR Sangappa Gabi sought the active participation of all the stakeholders in making the Mission a success.
