District in-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi instructed officials to make all arrangements for Ganeshotsav celebrations in the city with great enthusiasm and issue permits to the festival boards immediately through a single window scheme so that there is no delay. He was speaking after presiding over a preparatory meeting on the occasion of Ganeshotsav.
Attention will be drawn at the government level to providing electricity at concessional rates to Ganeshotsav mandals. Any problems should be brought to the notice of the authorities. The Ganeshotsav Mandal should also contribute to the immersion as soon as possible by participating in the procession within the stipulated time. Like every year, all preparations are already being made and necessary steps will be taken to clean potholes, repair roads, clear electric wires, police security and other necessary measures, Satish Jarkiholi said.
City Corporation Commissioner Ashok Dudagunti said that all arrangements will be made to ensure that ganeshotsav is celebrated in a grand and neat manner like every year.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil said, a grant of Rs 1 crore has been earmarked in the Corporation for the smooth conduct of Ganeshotsav. Single-window arrangements are being made in eight Police Stations to facilitate issuance of permits to Ganeshotsav mandals. A large gallery will be constructed to facilitate the viewing of the parade. The route of the procession will be inspected and necessary arrangements and additional CCTV cameras will be installed for the smooth procession, he said.
Mayor Shobha Somanache, Deputy Mayor Reshma Patil, MLA Asif Sait, MLC Channaraj Hattiholi, City Police Commissioner SN Siddaramappa, ZP CEO Harshal Bhoyar and others were present.
