Bengaluru
After the rumblings within the Congress over ministers reported to be unavailable to party MLAs, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has declared that his doors will be always open to the MLAs and that he would personally sort out their issues. Some MLAs had been demanding that the party set up a coordination committee to act as an interface between the party and the government.
The move is being seen as an attempt to put a stop to any further friction to halt. The CM announced that he will personally meet the MLAs at the Congress legislature party meeting on Thursday evening and promised to take up work which the ministers cannot. Also, it is being said that by personally meeting MLAs, the CM can elicit their opinion, know what is on their minds, and strike a balance in the event of any trouble.
Also, to ensure that work progresses smoothly, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will monitor the status of files in all departments personally towards the end of every month. The CM will take stock of representations received and how many have been dealt with or why it is kept pending. By doing so, the CM will get to know if his party MLAs’ petitions are being dealth with and he seems determined to halt any friction between ministers and MLAs, political watchers felt.
