RSS Leader Madan Das Devi Passes Away, PM Modi Condoles

Madan Das Devi, an 81-year-old veteran leader and Hindutva ideologue from Maharashtra, who served as a joint secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), passed away on Monday morning at the Rashtrotthan Hospital in Bengaluru. Devi had been battling a prolonged illness. His mortal remains will be kept at RSS local headquarters Keshav Krupa in Bengaluru from 1.30 pm to 4 pm for the last darshan. Subsequently, they will be taken to Pune for the last rites on Tuesday. Madan Das Devi played a prominent role in nurturing leadership skills among leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and RSS. As a full-time preacher (pracharak), he was known for his dedication to the service of the country. Throughout his career, Devi held significant positions, serving as the RSS Joint General Secretary and the Organizing Secretary of the RSS student wing, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). His contributions were instrumental in shaping the leadership abilities of several national-level BJP leaders we see today. In response to his passing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep sorrow and condolences, praising Devi’s commitment to the nation. Modi also acknowledged that he had personally learned many valuable lessons from the late leader.
