Must read

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has warned of action to address traffic jams in Bengaluru. BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath stated that the deadline for repairing potholes expired on Wednesday, and efforts have been made to address ongoing road issues.

During a recent meeting, the DCM highlighted that a two-week timeline had been established for road repairs, following a deadline set by the Chief Minister during a city tour. BBMP reported that 2,500 roadblocks have been closed, but approximately 1,300 to 1,400 complaints are still being received daily.

So far, a total of 6,000 roadblocks have been addressed, with 800 closures occurring each day. Although significant progress has been made, it will take an additional two days to complete repairs on the remaining roadblocks.

A budget of Rs 30 crore has been allocated for repairs across 225 wards, with Rs 15 crore spent from April to September. Additionally, the BMRCL has been involved in maintaining certain roads at a cost of Rs 240 crore.

Preparations for tunnel road construction are underway, and the BBMP is mobilizing funds quickly. Waste management issues are being handled at the zonal level, with decisions made across eight zones.
