“I will not contest any elections from now on, but I will be with you,” said Geetha Shivarajkumar at the inauguration of the new District Mahila Congress president, Shweta Bundi. She added that she will no longer be involved in election matters with Manjunath Bhandari and urged support for her younger brother, Madhu Bangarappa, emphasizing his steadfast support during her time in Bangalore.
Geetha praised Sowmya Reddy for her courage and expressed confidence in women’s strength, saying they have the ability to achieve anything. She urged Shweta Bundi to unite everyone and lead, recalling Bundi’s effective participation in her election campaign. Geetha also assured that she would support future campaigns if called upon.
Previously, Geetha had contested twice from the Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency but lost. Minister S Madhu Bangarappa highlighted the ongoing social, educational, and economic survey, clarifying that it is not a caste census. He emphasized that the survey aims to ensure equality for all, with teachers largely cooperating. He added that DCs and CEOs across districts are assisting, with a target of covering 10 houses per day to complete the survey on schedule.
