Elephant Attack, Father Dies, Son Escaped

In a tragic incident, a man was killed in an attack by a wild elephant. The incident took place   in Aladakere forest near Palya.   The deceased has been identified as Prabhuswamy (55) of Maliganatta village near PG Palya, Male Mahadeshwara Wildlife Sanctuary. Prabhuswamy and his son Chandru had gone to Aladakere plains forest area under PG Palya forest range to pluck broomsticks. The father and son were plucking sticks on one side of the other when the elephant attacked them. Prabhuswamy died on the spot. The incident came to light from the son who escaped unhurt. The body has been sent to Hanur Primary Health Centre for post-mortem.
