Women leaving the workforce in this way can have an impact on the economy, as companies lose skilled female employees. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country’s largest IT services company, is witnessing a major attrition among its women workforce. Among women employees of TCS, 35.7 percent quit. In the company’s annual report, Milind Lakkad, the company’s chief human resources officer, said that a large number of women left the workforce in fiscal 2023, a setback to our efforts to promote gender diversity. He is confident that we will overcome this problem, he says that it is an unusual development that women employees are leaving their jobs in large numbers.
