Must read

City police on Monday morning held raids on history sheeters in East Bengaluru given the Assembly elections in Karnataka. During the raids, lethal weapons and narcotics were seized, police said. The raids were held at around 5 am in houses of over 100 history sheeters in the areas under the DJ Halli Police Station limits. The raids were led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of the KG Halli sub-division.
During the raids, 105 kg of ganja, eight grams of MDMA, a dagger and a weighing machine were seized from history sheeter Asif. He has six cases in the DJ Halli Police Station, including those of dacoity, theft, and a case related to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, police said. Here are some of the other notorious history sheeters whose residences were raided: Jollu Imran, Anis, Jahir Abbas, Huseen Sharrif, Granite Sadiq, Sakir, Bhindi Irfan, Yousef, Thofiq and Nelson. Further investigations by the police are on. Similar raids were held by the police last week in East, Southeast, Central, South, West and North Bengaluru. Police hold raids and area domination exercises during elections to ensure history sheeters and anti-social elements won’t influence voters. The state Assembly elections in Karnataka will be held on May 10 and the results will be declared on May 13.
