State President of Karnataka Association of Working Journalists (KUWJ) Sivananda Tagaduru congratulated Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Meena of the State Election Commission for allowing working journalists to vote by post in the Assembly elections for the first time on the request of KUWJ. Who are the journalists who are busy on election day? It will be confirmed by the respective media organizations and those who have been approved by the election officer of the respective district will be allowed to vote by post. They will get ballot paper for election. Chief Returning Officer Meena said on the same occasion that they will be allowed to vote before the election. The Chief Electoral Officer said that information about postal voting of journalists will be sent to the respective districts. It is commendable that postal voting has been allowed considering the plea submitted by KUWJ on behalf of journalists. On this occasion, the president of the association, Shivananda Tagaduru, appealed to the Chief Electoral Officer that online voting should be allowed in the future. Online voting is currently not allowed. He said that he will investigate this further.
