In view of the Diwali festival, the city police have designated certain areas within the Commissionerate as silent zones. City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar has issued an order prohibiting the use of firecrackers in these regions.

To mitigate the adverse effects of noise and air pollution on senior citizens, individuals with health issues, and animals during the festival, the following locations will be off-limits for firecrackers: Sri Chamarajendra Zoo, Kukkarahalli Lake, Karanji Lake, Lingabudi Lake, public parks, hospitals, nursing homes, educational institutions, courts, and religious sites. The ban will be enforced within a 100-meter radius of these areas from October 30 to midnight on November 2.

The initiative aims to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for all residents during the festive season.
