IAF Scripts History 4th Consequent Trophy In Inter-Services Technical Training Competition

The IAF paramedical team, yet again, brought laurels to the Indian Air Force by winning the prestigious Quadrennial Military Paramedic Skill Competition, held at Army Medical Corps Centre and College Lucknow on 22nd March 2023. To honour the champions, a felicitation programme was held at Medical Training Centre, Bengaluru, on 27th March 2023. Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, Senior Air Staff Officer Training Command, IAF graced the occasion as Chief Guest, Air Vice Marshal Sadhna S Nair, Principal Medical Officer, Training Command and Air Vice Marshal Subramanian Shankar, Commandant CHAFB attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, the Air Marshal congratulated the air warriors for their professional excellence exhibited during the competition. He highlighted that training institutes in IAF with its dedicated instructors, modern training aids and continued innovations in training methodologies have moved from strength to strength and this success story is a reaffirmation of their training skills and excellence. He exhorted the air warriors to keep themselves abreast with the latest developments in the pursuit of excellence. Air Vice Marshal Sadhna S Nair in her concluding remarks congratulated the air warrior for bringing laurels for the fourth consecutive time to the IAF.
The world has recognized the professionalism of medical services staff of Indian Armed Forces during serious catastrophic situations, recent being the earthquake in Turkey. To attain this level of proficiency a competition is organized to assess the best medical practices among three services. Teams from all three services competed in this challenging and highly technical, knowledge based tournament. Each team comprised nine paramedics. They were subjected to various testing methodologies over a day. These included management of emergencies, practical bedside nursing skills and oral questionnaires. The IAF paramedical team was trained for this competition at Medical Training Centre(MTC) Bangalore under the aegis of Training Command. The consequent title brought by the air warriors is a testimony of quality of training and level of professional excellence in Indian Air Force. The competition trophy was handed over to the victorious IAF team by the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services Lt Gen Daljit Singh AVSM VSM PHS, on the 22nd March 2023. The ceremony was attended by the Director General Medical Services of Army, Navy and Air Force.
