Kavalageri Jagadguru Sri Sivananda Mahaswami’s Jatramahotsava was held with great enthusiasm amidst the cheers of the devotees. On the occasion of Ugadi festival in Kavalager, various religious and cultural programs were organized as part of Jatramahotsa of Jagadguru Sivananda Swami. Mass weddings and Kumbh Melas and various religious programs were held. The palanquin festival of the fair proceeded through the main road of the town to the shrines of the main Gods with Karadi Majal, Bhajane, Dollina Majal, and Benda Majal accompanied by all musical instruments. Thousands of devotees from various places around Dharwad taluk such as Amminabhavi, Chandanamatti, Somapura, Govanakoppa, Hebballi, Honnalli participated in the fair. The divine presence of the fair was presided over by Kavalageri Sivananda and Thada Sivananda Saraswati Swamiji, Dr. Mallikajuna of Mutuga Math started the chariot festival. Elders of the village participated in the chariot festival of the fair and pulled the chariot with great joy amid fear and devotion.
