District Officials Asked To Implement Industrial Projects For Job Creation

Industries Department officials here on Saturday were asked to take immediate steps to implement all proposed industrial projects in the district for employment generation. Una Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma on Saturday met the officials and discussed with them proposals for a Bulk Drug Park, Pharma Formulation Park, Tool Room Project, HPCL’s Ethanol Plant, Green-Co Company, and other projects.
He said that the first installment of Rs 225 crore has been approved for the construction of Bulk Drug Park which is to be built at a cost of Rs 1,923 crore. Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for drinking water schemes and electricity projects costing Rs 35 crore and Rs 100 crore, respectively, under this project have been prepared, he said.
In the last two years, the government has notified the Thathal Chakk and Jeetpur Behri industrial areas, he said, adding, 70 industrial plants in all have been developed in the new industrial area. As many as 65 industrial plants have been allotted to various industrial units, out of which 15 industrial units have started production and the rest are under construction, the officer said.
