The global domination of Avatar: The Way of Water continues well into 2023. The James Cameron film has set new milestones and is officially the fourth highest grossing movie of all time.
Avatar: The Way of Water has dominated markets all over the world, with approximately $2.13 billion in BO receipts globally. The good news for fans of the franchise is that it is reported now that James Cameron has already shot parts of Avatar 3 and Avatar 4. He recently also spoke about the possibility of filming Avatar 5 in the future.
In an interview with Empire magazine, Avatar producer Jon Landau confirmed that there is a Charlie Chaplin connection in the upcoming sequel of the fantasy movie! Giving more details of the sequel, he explained that a new race of Navi, who are probably going to be more hostile to humans, will be introduced in Avatar 3.
More exciting news is that the leader of the Navi race will be played by Oona Chaplin, who happens to be Charlie Chaplins granddaughter. Getting a bit philosophical, Jon Landau elaborated further, There are good humans and there are bad humans. Its the same thing on the Navi side. Oftentimes, people dont see themselves as bad. What is the root cause of how they evolve into what we perceive as bad? Maybe there are other factors there that we arent aware of. Oona Chaplin is a fan of the Avatar series and has even praised the movie in the past.
