“I was proud when informed that I was elected as working president of the 2022 International Yoga Day celebrations at Mysore. The Yoga Day is being celebrated throughout the world in 178 countries, mainly due to efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. If we want to invite the Prime Minister for the function, we have to give something special. It will be special if we do a great programme together with all the yoga institutions in Mysuru and teach Yoga to everyone. Some people think that by practicing Yoga,diseases can be cured and there are several examples before the society of this nature”, Ramadas said.
“When I was the Minister of Medical Education, I had the opportunity to start a large naturopathy and yoga center in Mysuru. One has to wonder if the message that the Prime Minister will come to Mysore's Yoga Day will be shared by various media, from small children to adults. We have to see that Yoga is propagated rapidly throughout the Mysuru city and encourage everyone to take up practice every day. Let us also remember the great people who have dedicated their lives to Yoga during International Yoga Day, he said.
Bhashyam Swamiji, Head of JSS Srihari, members of various Yoga associations, institutions were present.
The MLA also inaugurated a cycle jatha to bring awareness in public about Yoga.
