Turuvanur Police Station Assistant Sub Inspector Ramesh urged students to stay away from drugs and help create a healthy society. He made the statement while opening the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2026 programme at Koonabevu Government High School in Turuvanur Hobli. He said repeated use of harmful substances can lead to addiction and damage brain function. Ramesh warned students that drugs can destroy their future and affect their families.
School headmaster Hanumanthappa said many young people are losing their lives by falling into bad habits. He added that youth are the strength of the nation and should avoid becoming victims of addiction. The headmaster also stated that selling and transporting drugs are illegal activities and serious crimes. Teachers and police staff attended the event and supported the message. The programme encouraged students to make responsible choices and work towards a safer, healthier community for everyone.
