Greater Bengaluru Authority speeds up pothole repairs

City authorities implement quality asphalt repairs to enhance commuter safety and traffic flow.

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has intensified its drive to repair potholes and restore damaged stretches across several key wards in the city, aiming to improve road conditions and ensure the safety of commuters.

On Tuesday, pothole-filling works were carried out in Bilekahalli Ward under the South Zone limits. Officials stated that the initiative is part of an ongoing effort to provide smoother vehicular movement in heavily trafficked areas. The restoration process involves filling potholes with quality asphalt, followed by compacting to ensure durability and reduce recurring damages during the monsoon.

Similar measures were also undertaken in the heart of the city. The Bengaluru Central City Corporation reported that pothole filling is currently in progress near the busy K.R. Market Circle and on several connecting roads. This stretch, frequented by thousands of commuters and traders every day, has long faced complaints of uneven surfaces and traffic snarls caused by poor road conditions.

In addition, the Bengaluru South City Corporation confirmed that pothole repairs were initiated in the Uttarhalli Ward on Tuesday. The works aim to address recurring safety concerns for motorists, particularly two-wheeler riders, who are most vulnerable to accidents on neglected road surfaces. The GBA emphasized that restoring city roads remains one of its top priorities and assured residents that more wards will be covered in the coming weeks. Officials added that routine monitoring has been introduced to ensure that newly repaired stretches remain in good condition, reducing both accidents and traffic congestion.
