SDM institutions in Karnataka set an education benchmark through five decades of academic excellence, social service, and rural development initiatives under Dharmasthala leadership.

SDM Educational Institutions, founded under the visionary leadership of late Rathnavarma Heggade, have emerged as model institutions in Karnataka over the past five decades, said Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade.
He was speaking after releasing the coffee table book Institution of Legacy, published by Academic Insights, which documents the academic, social and cultural journey of SDM institutions. The book release highlighted the institutions’ long-standing contribution to education and community development.
Dr. Heggade said SDM institutions have achieved remarkable milestones in the field of education and have become a benchmark for other academic institutions in the state. He noted that the growth of SDM reflects a strong commitment to quality education, discipline and social responsibility.
He appreciated the effort behind the publication and said it provides a comprehensive record of the development of SDM institutions as well as associated organizations working under the Dharmasthala framework.
Hemavathi V. Heggade also praised the publication team, stating that the coffee table book has been designed and compiled in an attractive and informative manner. She commended the editorial and creative teams for their dedicated effort in bringing out the volume.
SDM Educational Institutions Secretary Dr. Satishchandra said the book captures the holistic journey of Dharmasthala’s educational, cultural and social initiatives. It also documents the contributions of associated organizations such as SKDRDP, SIRI, RUDSET and SDM Dharmothana Trust.
The publication further highlights the evolution, achievements and service activities of these institutions, showcasing their role in rural development, skill training and community empowerment.
Several dignitaries including D. Harshendra Kumar, Supriya Harshendra Kumar, principals and representatives from Academic Insights attended the event.
Speakers at the programme noted that SDM institutions have consistently blended academic excellence with social service, making them a unique model in the education sector.
