After Vani Bhojan, actor Hrishikesh (of Velaiilla Pattadhari fame) has now joined the team of Prabhudeva’s Rekla, which is being directed by Anbu (who helmed Walter). The team began shooting for the film recently in Chennai, and Hrishikesh, too, has joined the set.
The actor says that he has an interesting role in this project. “My character is a multidimensional one, an important guy, who appears throughout the film. He is rugged and intense,” says the actor, adding, “I’ve been mostly playing romantic roles or boy-next-door ones, but this is completely different from what I had done before. So, when Anbu approached me, I was excited to explore a side that I haven’t tapped as an actor. It will be a challenge for sure, but I am happy I am taking the next step in my career with this role.”
Being a 90’s kid, Hrishikesh says that he is kicked to be sharing screen space with Prabhudeva. “I grew up watching his songs and movies. While I’ve known him from before, this is the first time I will be acting with him. I will be sharing a lot of screen time with him. Master brings a certain kind of energy to the set, something similar to the ones he brings onscreen with his dance and acting,” says Hrishikesh.
The actor is currently shooting for a Tamil web-series. He adds, “I am waiting for my Telugu film to hit the screens, this summer. I have also signed a psychological thriller in Tamil. An announcement regarding the same will be made soon.”
