MYSURU
In collaboration with the Navodaya Cricket Club and the Physical Education Department of the Mysuru University, a V Prabhakar memorial Legends T-10 cricket tournament has been arranged in the Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Odeyar Stadium (Gangothri Gate), said the office bearer of Navodya Cricket Club MR Suresh.
Addressing a press conference at the journalists' building, he said this was the first such cricket tournament in Mysuru, with more than 75 senior cricketers representing the Ranji Trophy, Karnataka State, Mysuru Division and Mysuru University cricket teams are participating in the two-day tournament.
Each team will play 10 overs in the tournament and there will be 3 overs of power play. Each bowler can bowl not more than2 overs. There are 5 teams participating in the tournament and will be held on league basis. Each team will play 4 matches and the top 2 teams will quality to play in the finals on 20th March, he said.
Vice Chancellor Prof Hemantha Kumar will inaugurate the tournament, former Ranji cricketer S Vijaya Prakash, President of Navodaya Cricket Club KR Mohan Kumar, Physical Education Head of Mysuru University P Krishnaiah will be chief guests.
