HUBLI
Out of the total budget of Rs 919 crores for 2022-23 of Hubli-Dharwad Metropolitan Corporation, an amount of Rs 36.73 lakh savings has been forecast.
An income of Rs. 381 crore is expected from various taxes. In addition to this, funds for various projects will be released from the state government.
t is intended to increase the source of income by covering all the assets in the jurisdiction of corporation. All regulations pertaining to licensing are intended to be implemented at an early stage to alleviate technical difficulties experienced at present. In addition to providing technical touches on marketing tax, advertising taxes etc., there is an emphasis on further processing of the tax schedule in due course. The budget has already been submitted to the state government for approval.
5 crore for beautification
5 crore is reserved for beautification of Hubli city including the Gabbur circle and other places.
An amount of ₹ 15 crore has been earmarked for land acquisition to widen the main roads and circles of the city and to facilitate smooth flow of traffic. ₹ 7 crore for the development of parking spaces and ₹ 6 crore for the development of business zones is also reserved.
5 crores for eatery place
With the aim of making a variety of dishes available at one place, the budget aims to create a eatery place at a cost of Rs 5 crore in the heart of Dharwad. this time's budget aims to create a ‘5 crore’ brand in the heart of Dharwad. A grant of ₹ 2.50 crore has been earmarked for Indira Canteen, which provides low-cost food.
Along with continuation of development work, some new announcements have been made in the budget. The budget has been approved by the regional commissioner and sent to the government for approval.
Women’s bazaar at Rs 2 crore
With a focus on women-centric business activities in the twin cities, the city will set up a women's bazaar in Dharwad for ₹ 2 crore and women's bazaars at Hubli at a cost of ₹ 2 crore. The CCTV cameras will be installed for women’s safety, at a cost of ₹ 2 crore, including bus stops.
Rs 1 crore for installation of solar panels
Rs 1 crore has been earmarked for installation of solar panels on Hubli-Dharwad metropolitan buildings. By generating solar power in offices using solar energy, conventional power consumption will be decreased resulting cost reductions towards power.
Amount allocated to other projects
- Rs 72.98 crore for Solid waste management and sanitation management
- Rs 18.1 crore for road, pedestrian way, open drainage, underground drainage construction.
- Rs 18 crore for construction of homes for civic workers
- Rs 12.70 crore for poverty eradication, development of SC and ST communities and providing infrastructure
- Rs. 8.78 crores for management of Corporation hospitals
- Rs 5.78 crores for Urban forestry, management of parks
- A grant of Rs 10 lakhs for journalists, auto drivers and Artists Welfare Association
