BBMP plans to give 10 lakh compensation and employment to family members if civil workers who work under the BBMP have died before retirement. Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta has made a secret proposal to the administration.
There are 16,202 civilian workers working in BBMP under the 2,164 Permanent and Direct Wage System. 250 to 300 seats are vacant every year due to old age or other causes.
A compensation of Rs. 10 lakh or compensation for the deceased is currently being provided only after the death of 5 years of service. Only one of the two is allowed. Conditions of service of 5 years and only one facility in both should be dropped. The demand for civilian workers’ organizations is to provide both facilities to the families of the deceased under any conditions. The commissioners said the proposals would be tabled for approval.
The pension is now being paid in the form of a pension of Rs. After his death, the policy is withdrawing Rs. 10 lakh. In this regard, the Chief Commissioner has proposed to reduce the deposit for pension to Rs. 5 lakh as per the demands of the unions and transfer the remaining Rs. 5 lakh to retired civilian workers through DBT (Direct Cash Transfer). The pension facility can be extended as long as the employee’s spouse is alive and has children. After that, Rs. 5 lakh can be withdrawn.
The policy also envisages a pension system for civilian workers under the age of 50 who are seriously ill, and a pension scheme for those who are over 50 years of age.
Citizen workers are given six holidays per year on government holidays, which can be approved by dividing Sankranti, Varamahalakshmi, Ugadi, Dasara, Diwali and Christmas. He also proposed a payment of over Rs 2,000 to supervisors operating in the direct wage system, with effect from April 2021.
