White House trade adviser Peter Navarro has dismissed the longevity of the BRICS alliance, claiming the member nations “all hate each other” and likening their trade practices to “vampires” exploiting the United States. According to reports, Navarro argued that the bloc—comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and recently expanded to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE, and Indonesia—relies heavily on U.S. markets, adding that without American trade, the alliance could not survive.
Navarro criticized China and Russia, alleging Beijing aims to control Vladivostok and is “colonizing Siberia” through large-scale illegal migration, while accusing Russia of aligning too closely with China. On India, he reiterated complaints about high tariffs and imports of Russian oil, warning that New Delhi’s close ties with Russia and China could have negative consequences. He also derided India’s social media influence and called on the country to come around on U.S. trade negotiations.
Regarding Brazil, Navarro criticized President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s “socialist policies” and referenced the house arrest of former president Jair Bolsonaro, describing the situation as damaging to the economy. Navarro also highlighted successful trade partnerships between the U.S. and the EU, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Indonesia, emphasizing that these countries collaborate closely with America because they recognize the importance of fair trade.
Navarro concluded by urging India and Europe to stop buying Russian oil, framing it as essential for global stability and peace, and emphasized the U.S. strategy as part of Trump-era diplomacy to protect American interests.
