Citing the lessons learnt in the recent deluge witnessed in Bengaluru due to torrential rainfall, Revenue minister R Ashoka stated that the government will take stern action to clear all encroachments without any bias.
Speaking to media persons, Ashoka said that previous governments had also assured to act against encroachments. However, once the rains and waterlogging subsided, the work on clearing encroachments never took place.
He further added that the BJP government has identified and made a list of the encroachments. The list, which includes names of nearly 30 IT companies has been given to the BBMP for further action. The government will adopt a non-biased approach while dealing with the encroachments and there is no scope for compromise of any sort.
The Revenue Department, BBMP, and BDA are working jointly in this regard. Regarding Bagmane Tech Park, Ashok said that the government is thinking about filing a caveat petition in court. The issue will be discussed with the CM and the advocate general, he said.
