Tahsildar Raghavendra Rao emphasized the importance of non-violence and moral values in building a peaceful society while addressing a gathering on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti in Shirahatti. Speaking at the Tahsildar office in Shirahatti after offering floral tributes to the portrait of Lord Mahavira, Raghavendra Rao highlighted the relevance of non-violence in today’s world. He remarked that even in times marked by global conflicts and unrest, people in India continue to live peacefully due to the enduring influence of Mahavira’s principles and the teachings of other great philosophers.
He noted that the philosophy of non-violence, compassion, and harmony has played a crucial role in shaping society. According to him, if individuals adopt these principles in their daily lives, it would lead to greater understanding and unity among communities. He stressed that peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the result of conscious efforts to practice kindness and tolerance.
The Tahsildar also spoke about the universal nature of Jainism, stating that its teachings are not limited to any particular caste or creed. Instead, they serve as a guiding force for the welfare of humanity as a whole. He pointed out that values such as forgiveness over anger, love over hatred, and kindness instead of violence are essential for building a harmonious society.
