Hubballi
Amid a growing shortage of domestic gas cylinders in Hubballi, authorities have warned of strict legal action against commercial establishments illegally procuring domestic gas. Officials have emphasized that priority will be given to essential services and household consumers.
According to Joint Director Vinod Kumar, there has been a noticeable shortage of domestic gas cylinders in recent times, causing inconvenience to the public. The situation has been worsened by reports that several commercial establishments are unlawfully using domestic cylinders instead of authorized commercial gas supplies. Authorities have taken serious note of these violations and have assured that stringent action will be initiated against those found guilty.
Vinod Kumar stated that ensuring uninterrupted supply of gas to households remains the top priority. He highlighted that many residents have been forced to wait in long queues outside gas agencies due to the shortage. To address this issue, the department has decided to prioritize distribution of domestic cylinders to households, hospitals, and emergency services.
Officials acknowledged that there is a slight shortage of commercial gas cylinders as well, which may have contributed to the misuse of domestic cylinders by business operators. However, they stressed that such practices are illegal and put additional pressure on the already strained domestic supply chain.
The Joint Director also appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities and refrain from hoarding gas cylinders. He urged consumers to use gas responsibly and report any instances of misuse or illegal distribution. Authorities are expected to intensify inspections and monitoring to curb malpractice and ensure fair distribution.
The move is seen as an effort to streamline the supply system and safeguard the interests of genuine consumers. Residents have welcomed the decision and expressed hope that strict enforcement will bring relief from the ongoing shortage and restore normalcy in gas availability across the city.
