Former City Corporation member Umesh Vandal, addressing a press conference in Vijayapura on Saturday, announced that from a Ram Navami Utsav Samiti holds a grand procession will be Organised. on the occasion of Ram Navami on March 29 (Sunday) at 4 pm. He said the procession will begin from Ram Mandir and pass through Siddheshwar Temple, Gandhi Circle, and Shivaji Circle before concluding near Ambabhavani Temple.
As part of the event, annasantarpane (mass food distribution) will be organized at Shivaji Circle. Special arrangements, including traditional drum (dollu) teams from Maharashtra and DJ performances, have also been made to enhance the celebrations. Marking the 10th year of the celebration, various cultural troupes will participate, and their performances will be evaluated in a cinematic style. Based on viewership (views), prizes will be awarded, with ₹11,111 for the first prize and ₹5,555 for the second prize. Additionally, a special Bharatanatyam performance will be presented on an open vehicle at designated place by the team led by Diksha Bise under the banner of Swayambhu Foundation.
A grand idol of Lord Rama will be taken out in procession, and the public of Vijayapura has been urged to participate in large numbers.
