VTU ‘Yukti-2026’ fest inaugurated at PG centre

The regional-level technical, management and cultural fest “Yukti-2026” was inaugurated at the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Postgraduate Centre and Regional Office in Kalaburagi.

The two-day event began on a vibrant note with traditional dollu kunitha and folk dance performances, extending a warm welcome to the dignitaries and participants. The programme was held under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vidyashankar S. District Collector Fauzia Taranum, President of Gurudwara Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib Dr. Sardar Balbir Singh, and KKRTC Chairman Arun Kumar M. Patil were among the important dignitaries present on the dais.

Addressing the gathering, District Collector Fauzia Taranum encouraged students to actively participate in competitive activities and highlighted the importance of education in shaping their future. KKRTC Chairman Arun Kumar Patil stressed that along with academic curriculum, skill-based knowledge is essential in today’s competitive world. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vidyashankar S. spoke about the university’s commitment to quality technical education and highlighted opportunities available to students through internships and the central placement portal.

Regional Director Dr. Shubhangi D.C., in her welcome address, said such festivals play a crucial role in promoting innovation and technical excellence among students. Chief Coordinator Dr. Basavaraj Gadage described “Yukti-2026” as a valuable platform for students to showcase their talents. On the occasion, principals of engineering colleges from the Kalyana Karnataka region were felicitated, and prizes were distributed to winners of the skill assessment test. Students, faculty and staff from various colleges participated in large numbers.
