Magnitude 4.5 earthquake hits Myanmar region

Naypyidaw
Myanmar experienced an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 at a depth of 120 km, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported. This follows a magnitude 3.9 quake earlier at 90 km depth. Myanmar lies at the intersection of four tectonic plates and along the Sagaing Fault, making it prone to earthquakes and tsunamis. Cities like Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, and Yangon face significant seismic risk. While no casualties were immediately reported, residents are urged to remain cautious. Experts note that intermediate-depth quakes, like Wednesday’s, can still cause shaking over wide areas.
