Addressing supporters at the end of the procession in Bhabanipur, Adhikari said that officials within the state administration are increasingly acting with greater responsibility.
According to him, this change in behaviour reflects a broader realisation that the political landscape in West Bengal is on the verge of transformation.
The BJP leader also accused local police of attempting to obstruct his party’s activities. He alleged that officers tried to seize bamboo materials intended for constructing a political stage ahead of the event. However, Adhikari claimed that the situation was resolved after he confronted the authorities, adding that such actions indicate shifting dynamics within the system.
The Ram Navami procession, held in parts of Kolkata, saw significant participation from monks and Bharatiya Janata Party supporters. The rally moved through several localities before concluding at Hazra crossing, located close to the residence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The event highlighted the growing political significance of religious gatherings in the state’s electoral context.
Adhikari, who is contesting from Bhabanipur against Mamata Banerjee, is also simultaneously in the fray from Nandigram in East Midnapore district, a seat he has previously represented. The dual contest has intensified political attention on his campaign.
During his address, Adhikari expressed confidence that after the ongoing Assembly elections, a governance model based on Ram Raj would be established in the state. He outlined promises of employment opportunities, improved living conditions, and enhanced safety for women, presenting these as key priorities for the future.
Later in the day, the BJP leader was scheduled to participate in additional Ram Navami processions in the neighbouring Howrah district, including events organised by religious and community groups.
